Smile to my face - and last day to sign up for the giveaway!!!

That is what this blog has brought (a smile to my face). Not really the blog itself, but the blog love we are getting from all of you. We (I think I can speak for Dove) are having a great time. I have loved every word written so far from Danyelle of dandee (keep scrolling down, she wrote one today and on Monday). I will be having a family night with a new perspective to bring to my kids about our home. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Also bringing a smile to my face:

Yes, Spring. Glimpses of it. I can barely stand January and February. I. just. try. to. get. to. Spring. Almost there. Ridiculous, since I have lived all but 6 months of my life in a place were Winter is cold and snowy. But today, the snow well on the way to being moisture for my grass roots, I chose to clean out a couple of my front garden beds. Right now is a great time to take advantage of the mild weather and prune your garden a bit. I cut back TONS of clematis, pruned back autumn stalks, raked up leaves that days ago were covered in snow. I like to garden. I'll tell you all about our kid's garden soon. It isn't beautiful but the kids love it (especially the vegetables) and tend it carefully. I am not a master gardener, not even close, but I do love the garden and can sort of make some things grow. Do you garden? Or do you like other people's gardens? I understand. That is how I feel about dogs.

Get your entries in for the giveaway. It ends at 11:59 tonight, MST. Then I will put each name in a bowl and have one of the lucky kids draw a name in the morning. Look for the winner by mid-afternoon tomorrow.

Dove and I love the idea of We Chirp spurring conversation and dialogue. Comment and comment again, because people are talking and sharing in the comments. If you don't believe me, look at what this post has people talking about. And, please make the rest of February less dreary for me. Visit often. Comment often and send lots of love Chirp's way. You guys are the bomb.com.

Uh-oh, Houston we have a problem. If I wasn't already smitten with your blog I might have to distance myself. As it stands, I'll pretend I didn't read that..."that's how I feel about dogs..." comment... Them's fighting words in my lab-obsessed world. I guess not everyone is perfect. Sigh. ;-)

Moving on. Me me me! I would LOVE to garden. I have a back yard and a front yard and two side yards, even. My husband and I planted some stuff last year...but more died than thrived. I would LOVE it if you would feature a gardener, and soon. Tell us what to plant, and when. Last year we planted too little, too late. I'd love to eat veggies we grew ourselves! And I can't wait to hear about your kids garden!

I love the *idea* of having a garden - but I have of yet to live somewhere with adequate space.

But I am LOVING watching all of the crocus and snowdrops appearing right now. First sign of Spring!

Katie, settle down, you'll find out tomorrow - I'm really excited for our first drawing.

Christy, I love dogs. They are furry and cute and lovable, and I even used to borrow my neighbors golden lab to go walking with - we were buddies. But I especially love that I can love them and then their owner can deal with their shedding and poop maintainence. Let me repeat, I love dogs.

Kate, I'll talk soon about small gardens and potted gardens. Simple and simple.

The person who invents non-pooping non-shedding dogs would be a kazillioniare! Sign me up too! :-)

I'm also looking forward to your piece on potted gardens. I would love to decorate my deck and front porch with potted plants! (and today I saw my first bulbs of the season!!)
