Bookish

I like when I get caught up in a good book.  I do tend to read more spy/suspense novels lately, I enjoy them but it is mostly convenient when my dad just shows up with a bag full.  Right now I am reading The Help , not a spy novel, and am loving it.  It is set Jackson, Mississippi around the time of Dr. King's March.  Told from the perspective of 2 black women who are "The Help" and a white woman who doesn't like how things are. But it will end too quickly and I need some more suggestions.  What are you reading?  What should I not read?

** The next day - I ended up reading the final 300 pages last night.  I just couldn't put it down.  I needed to know what was going to happen and it sucked me in.  I wanted to see if Miss Hilly would be socially crushed because of her horrible ways, if Minny would hold her tongue and if Aibileen and Miss Skeeter would find their zone.  Loved it.

This is the second time today I've seen The Help on a blog - I think I need to read it. I haven't picked up a book in months, literally. I'm so tired I just pass out every night. So, I have no suggestions. Oh wait, I do: Last Night at Twisted River by John Irving and Her Fearful Symmetry by ummmm Audrey Niffenberger (sp?) - I read those last fall/winter and loved them both!

The Help is on my bedside table this very moment waiting to be read. My mom and a cousin both read it and loved it. I recommend 'The Forgotten Garden' by Kate Morton - it's an excellent read with a mystery running through it.

Read it, loved it. Just started The Book Thief; literally THE last person on planet Earth to read it.

Christy, I got Her Fearful Symmetry for Christmas and haven't read it yet. Glad it got your endorsement.

I'm reading The Agony & The Ecstasy in preparation for my upcoming European tour. I'm loving it. It's about Michelangelo. Fascinating.

I haven't read The Help OR The Book Thief yet. I'm waaaaaay behind all y'all.
