Some music for your Wednesday - Lisa Hannigan

I'm loving Lisa Hannigan's newly released album, Sea Sew. I'm also loving that you can listen to a bunch of songs on her website. I like free stuff as much as the next guy, but I can also appreciate the effort & time an artist puts into their work, so I plan on purchasing her entire album one of these days. She's easily earned my 12 bucks, especially because she's cool enough to offer us a listen for gratis.

Her lyrics are smart, her voice like butta, so peaceful & etherial. You might recognize it as the backup voice on Damien Rice's first couple albums. Evidently they have split and while I'm sad that she will no longer lend her voice to his, I'm happy that she is making her own way. Besides, I imagine the choice was "go solo or risk slitting my wrists from working with this emotional train wreck any longer!"

Please let me know what you think. I'd like to know if I'm on track with what our listeners are in to or if I need to steer more towards Poison...

I have never heard of Lisa Hannigan before -- but I just clicked on her site and am really loving her music! I admit, I admit I'm a child of the 80s and I will always love that Poison song Every Rose Has It's Thorn...

Oh Christy, hasn't anyone told you yet that you can't admit that in social circles?

Nope not really my type. I recently told you that I am having a Gun's N Roses revolution....

Only kidding. About Lisa's music anyway. Loved it. There were moments that it reminded me of Feist.
