A few of my favorite things

Hi there! It's me, Christy! Hope you and your families are having a wonderful holiday season!

I'm done with my Christmas shopping, and I'm proud to say that I didn't even step foot in a shopping mall once. (don't hate me!)

I did the vast majority of my shopping online -- and I made a valiant effort to patronize large retailers as infrequently as possible. Instead, I hit up etsy shops, Annechovie, and Reverie-Daydream Boutique, among others...

This year, my friends and family (and I!) will be the lucky recipients of some of the items below. Don't despair! This isn't 'yet another gift guide' -- instead, it's simply a list of some of MY FAVORITE THINGS!

- This tiny notepad, handmade by my pal Katie, of Making This Home. Why yes, I will have a second piece of cake! $2.75
- See's Toffee-ettes. If you've never had them, and like toffee, they're a must-try. $15.60

- Spa-thongs from Land's End. Super cute, oh-so-comfy, and uber-affordable! $9.99
- This print from Annechovie. This is going to look perfect in my daughter's big-girl bedroom! $25.00

- This vibrant poppy scarf from Reverie-Daydream boutique. Exquisite! $33.00

- Andrea Bocelli's 2009 My Christmas album. He sings the classics in Italian and in English, and partners with the Mormon Tabernacle choir, among others. I already have this - an early present to myself - and have it on repeat in my car. I love it! $17.99

- The 2009 official White House Christmas ornament. I've been collecting them every year since I was in college! $23.00
- A flock of chicks. Not for my house though. For families from Cameroon to the Caribbean aided by Heifer International. $20.00

"In Tanzania, Omari and Kulwa were struggling to raise a family on just 50 cents a day. With the training and chicks they received from Heifer, egg sales have boosted their daily income to $2, so they can now buy food and still pay school fees. Now, through passing on the gift, all of the children in their village are going to school."

- These Missoni blankets are gorgeous, but at $275, not in this girl's budget. Still, I like to admire them from afar. (originally spotted on Odi et Amo)

- Lab Rescue calendar. Full of gorgeous photos of rescued labs. It's the organization from which we adopted our awesome black lab, and all profits go back into the rescue mission. $15.00

I could go on and on, but I'll end there. What about you? Tell us what's on your wish list this year!

Christy - please do go on and on, I need a new perspective and this was perfect.   Don't forget the Born Ready Giveaway!!

Awesome picks. I'm touched that you included my shop, and I'm sending some huge thumbs up that you took care of everything without a visit to the mall, Christy. Very cool!

I really, really want chicks. In my backyard. For us to use their eggs. But my neighbors might exile us. I like your alternative. Great list Christy!!!

Funny how we both picked out that scarf (of course you actually bought it - and why not, so reasonable). Great list!
